Puntius titteya. A small, peaceful barb from Sri Lanka. Males turn a deep cherry red, especially in a well-planted tank.
Hardy. Likes plants and shaded areas. Keep more females than males for the best colour and behaviour.
Omnivore. Fine flakes or micro-pellets, with frozen or live daphnia, brine shrimp and bloodworm for colour and condition.
Egg-scatterer. Spawns in mature, planted tanks; adults will eat eggs, so move eggs or use a separate breeding tank to raise fry.
Price is per fish. Choose how many you'd like at checkout. Every order is £9 delivery by overnight courier however many you buy, or collect free from South Ayrshire (KA8). Photos are for illustration; fish are selected from our tanks and colours develop as they settle and mature.
