Hyphessobrycon megalopterus. A smoky-grey tetra with a black shoulder patch and dark fins. Males display to each other with flared fins, which is fun to watch.
Hardy. Prefers soft to neutral water, subdued lighting and plenty of plants.
Omnivore. Fine flakes or micro-pellets, with frozen or live daphnia, brine shrimp and bloodworm for colour and condition.
Egg-scatterer. Spawns in mature, planted tanks; adults will eat eggs, so move eggs or use a separate breeding tank to raise fry.
Price is per fish. Choose how many you'd like at checkout. Every order is £9 delivery by overnight courier however many you buy, or collect free from South Ayrshire (KA8). Photos are for illustration; fish are selected from our tanks and colours develop as they settle and mature.
